Emily is a licensed professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania, and also holds a doctorate degree in counseling education and supervision. Emily specializes in helping individuals with eating disorders and other forms of disordered eating gain back control of their lives and find freedom from food rules. She also specializes in helping women throughout the perinatal timeframe, from trying to conceive through postpartum and everything in between. Emily is passionate about merging her two specializations and helping individual’s who suffer from eating disorders and also are going through perinatal issues. She believes that every person deserves a chance to live the life they want. Emily uses an individualized approach to therapy, meaning that each client is treated in a way that fits their needs. She believes in the power of a strong therapeutic relationship, and strives to build that relationship from the moment of first contact. Emily uses a person centered and existential approach along with a combination of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT). Emily is also a partially trained EMDR therapist. Emily will work with you to determine the best treatment approach for your individual needs. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, and finding the best ice cream around!
